found this lil area at floyd lamb that feels like a total hidden gem. way back past the ponds where nobody really goes

my bike at the spot. big trees, logs and a fire ringIMG_4471.jpg

super quiet. big old trees, tons of wood laying around, even a lil fire ring so i guess im not the first one to find it. sat here for a while and didnt see a single person

kinda crazy you can still find a spot like this in town, away from everyone. might be my new favorite place to take a break and have a beer (not my can on the ground)

ppl act like you gotta drive out to lee canyon or red rock or whatever to ride anything in this town. and yeah those are great but thats a whole thing. gas, water, half your day

floyd lamb is like 15 min up the 95 and you can hit the trails without actually going out. its not huge but theres real dirt, actual shade (in vegas!!) and 4 ponds. you pay a lil at the gate and thats it

also peacocks. just walking around like they pay rent. saw one up on a table. fuckers own the place

not super technical, if you want to send it go somewhere else. but if you just wanna get on the bike for an hour after work and not think about anything its perfect

my buddy got me into geocaching. i call it treasure hunting cuz it sounds cooler. you get coordinates on your phone, ride out there, dig around under some rocks, and find a tupperware with a golf pencil and a mcdonalds toy in it

thats it. its more the rush of what youd find and leaving something for someone else

i have now done 11 of these and i think i might have a problem. its a good excuse to ride places i wouldnt normally go tho

best find so far was a 2 dollar bill. worst was an ammo can with one wet sock in it. I didn't wanna touch someones cum rag so I left it

ive had my aventon ramblas long enough now to give an actual review

quick backstory. i started on a big fat tire bike. loved that thing but riding it on anything rocky was like driving a couch. so i sold it and got an actual mountain bike

and yes its an ebike. yes i know. i still pedal. im not racing anybody. i just want to get to the top of stuff and still have a good time when i get there

ok so the review. i love this thing. im not even gonna pretend to be objective

battery life is the big one and its great. i have done full days on this bike, out exploring from morning until i got hungry, and still came home with battery left. it can seriously last all day. i have never once had to limp back to the truck

the motor is smooth too. its a mid drive so it just feels like you got stronger legs, not like something is shoving you from behind. climbs that used to make me want to quit are now just climbs

is it heavy? yeah, still a little. it does have a battery after all. its 50 something pounds and you feel it when you put it on the rack. once youre rolling you kinda forget about it

where it really shines is exploring. thats the whole reason i ride. you see some road you never noticed and you just go down it cuz you know youll make it back. most of the good spots ive found i only found cuz i had the range to keep going

its not a race bike. if you want to send it off a cliff get something else. but if you want one bike thats very nice to explore on and goes all day, this is it

would buy again. maybe ill do more reviews. idk

almost ran over a snake this morning out by the fossil beds. full brakes, back tire sliding. holy shit I haven't seen one in so long here. the snake did not care. just laid there in the middle of the trail like somebody dropped a tube

it was like 5 feet long. ok 3 feet

looked it up after and im 70% sure it was a gopher snake and not a rattler. the other 30% of me is still out there

went to get a pic and by the time i got my phone out it left
