wandering coop

ok so I figured out the password to zip called, "TheRedLightProject". it took me longer than I thought but utlimately it was just 'fieldsite3'.

annnnndddd there are more folders. yay and fuck me -_-

im too smol brain for this.

Anyways there was a file I could access called "TRLP9704". guessing trlp is the red light project and i dont know what 9706 is. Doesn't seem like a password for anything though.

idk what this is, page 1 of 2
trlp9704.pdf1 / 2

idk what im supposed to do with this information. . I tried searching the logo through google lens and couldn't find anything. some stuff that looks like it but isn't. Looks like whatever it is is Nevada based though.

fyi no longer going to be posting this red light stuff on here (wanderingcoop.com) and instead moving it all over to the red light project (theredlightproject.com) cuz this is not related at all to my little biking adventures... and yeah im stealing their name for this and their logo. fuck it. guy told me to get it out there sooo.

will post again if I figure something out. plz comment if you have any suggestions or thoughts

TLDR at the bottom

so theres not much to tell rn. i want to preface all this by saying that this is the internet and especially tiday, people will do whatever they can for their 15 minutes. im not saying thats me. i really dont care about that stuff. But its always good to be a lil skeptical..

that said, i didnt make whats on this usb, i found it in a cache while i was out treasure hunting and i have no clue how long it was in there for.

its just a standard silver USB with a label on each side.

FIELDSITE3

and

FUCK YOU ELLER

says fieldsite3 on itIMG_0798.jpgsays fuck you eller on it. tf is an eller?IMG_0797.jpg

anyone know what an eller is? cuz i sure as shit don't and google isn't helping

there is only one file I can read since the zip requires a password. might need to pass it off to my buddy to see if he can get in. or just learn how to do that myself. lot of tutorials.

Please enter the password for "TheRedLightProject.zip" i dont know what the password isIMG_0909.jpg

here's what that YouFoundMe.txt file says tho:

J,

As promised for TRLP. Sorry it took this long. You know where to start.

Again, don't open any of it on a machine that touches a network, get it out quickly, and be careful who you trust since it always gets scrubbed.

If you don't know what I'm talking about just put it back.

I will in fact not put it backIMG_0908.jpg

I most certainly will not be putting it back.

but yeah idk seems a little weird and is probably horseshit. but tbh im bored right now so i'll play along. Just take it with a grain of salt. theres a high chance whatverr the hell is on this drive is just some kid messing around and equally bored themselves.

Consider this my “getting it out there” post. i'll upload more as im able to get into that zip.

TLDR I found a weird USB that was probably made by an 'edgy' kid who likes to fuck with people but I'm bored so I'll play along when i have the time.

ok so i just found out there is an abandoned girl scout camp up in lee canyon. camp foxtail. how did i live here this long and not know about this

went down a whole rabbit hole so here is your history lesson. the girl scouts ran it as a summer camp from 1948 all the way to fall 2017. almost 70 years of southern nevada girls going up the mountain every summer. thousands of them

the name comes from the bristlecone pines. the needles are short and bunched together so the branches look like a foxs tail. how cool is that. the girl scouts go way back out here too, first troops started in boulder city in 1932

as for why it closed, they were told it sat on protected land for the mt charleston blue butterfly, which is endangered, and that came with strict forest service rules. the buildings needed around 1.5 million in renovations, some of it for safety. sounds like a really tough call for them

then right around the closing ceremony the center for biological diversity said the camp was never in the protected area and that butterfly hasnt been detected there since the 60s. havent seen a response to that yet

anyways went up yesterday on a wim. did not plan anything. did not charge my phone. it died before i even got up the canyon so i have zero photos

so heres a satellite pic instead lol

foxtail from above. lodge, cabins, water tanknot my pic obviously

big lodge down at the bottom, a few cabins, a water tank off by itself on the left. all just sitting there in the pines. almost 70 years of summers, pretty wild to think about

will get real photos next time. gonna charge my phone first. big if

might go look for more abandoned places. they are definitely out there

macks canyon road is my favorite thing in vegas. i said what i said

its a dirt road off lee canyon road and the turn is real easy to miss. about 4 miles of big pines and red dirt and it is like a different biome up there. you would never guess this was vegas

big pines and red dirt on macks canyon roadIMG_2567.jpg

smells like christmas. barely anybody around. perfect on the bike, you just cruise it and stop whenever you feel like it

i do this one way more than i should

went back the next weekend and got rained on. in july. in vegas. did not care at all

wet road, bright green aspens and storm cloudsIMG_3140.jpg
